However, it’s important to remember that a seed mix should ideally only be a small portion of a bird’s diet, ideally no more than 10%. The rest of the diet should be pellets, treats, fruits, nuts and vegetables.

The quality of Parrot seed has improved dramatically and nowadays some diets are even recommended by vets.

Many have extra ingredients to help a bird get a more balanced diet, even if they are only eating seed. A few ingredients are of human grade quality for this reason.
