Northern Pet Trade Terms and Conditions of Trading – 1st August 2025
1.Prices
All trade prices exclude VAT which will be added at the rate applicable at the time of despatch. Northern Pet Trade reserves the right to change prices without notice. Price charged will be that in force at the time of despatch. Recommended retail prices include VAT and are shown for guidance only.
2. Payment
Payment must be made in full at the time of order or within any of our agreed credit terms. Any disputed invoices must not delay payment of other invoices or partial invoices. Overdue accounts will be charged at 8% above Bank of England base rate. In the event of us having to use a debt recovery agent these costs will be added to the account. Credit accounts must be paid off by BACs.
3. Goods
All goods are subject to availability. All sales are final and are not on a sale or return basis. All sizes, weights and dimensions are approximate and for guidance only. Images are for illustration purposes only and colours may vary unless specified. Northern Pet Trade reserves the right to alter product specifications without notice.
All product images belong to Northern Pet Company unless stated otherwise.
Please do not use any images with Parrots in on any other form of media without our written consent. The only images available for you to use are those that don’t feature Parrots.
All products may only be sold in their original packaging, bulk products should not be broken down and sold loose. If you feel the expiry date on a product to be unreasonably short you must notify us within 7 days of the invoice date and at our discretion we may replace the goods.
4. Delivery
Free delivery on all UK orders over £250.00 (excluding VAT and any out of stock items) excluding the following postcode areas - BT, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, PO30-41, TR21-25, ZE. These will be charged at an additional £15.00 per delivery. A handling charge of £8 net will be added to orders under £250.00. Deliveries will normally be within 5 working days.
Any incorrect or damaged deliveries must be notified by telephone within 24 hours and in writing within 7 days. In case of boxes being damaged on delivery the delivery note must be signed as “damaged” – “unchecked” or similar is not acceptable. All packaging and damaged items must be retained until collection or disposal is authorised by us in writing. Non-delivery must be notified to Northern Pet Trade within 7 days of invoice date which indicates date of despatch. Delivery dates quoted by us are approximate and not binding.
Orders invoiced or delivered outside mainland UK may be subject to restrictions and paperwork requirements which are not provided as standard and will be charged for on a time and materials basis.
5. Title
Title of goods shall not pass to the customer until payment is made in full to Northern Pet Trade. Until such payment is received the purchaser shall hold the goods in fiduciary capacity for us. In the event of non-payment we or our agents shall be entitled to enter any premises where goods supplied by us may be, and recover possession of them. These goods do not necessarily have to relate to a specific invoice. Risk in goods supplied passes to the customer on delivery.
5. Force Majeure
We shall have no liability whatsoever for circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
6. Liability
Claims shall be limited to the item or invoice value. We shall not be liable for any consequential loss or damage or any other expenses howsoever arising. You will indemnify us against any loss or damage which we may suffer arising from your actions.
7. Acceptance
Placing of an order indicates acceptance of these terms and conditions. In the event of any conflict then these terms and conditions shall prevail, and shall override any terms or conditions which the customer may attempt to impose. Any conditions of contract which the customer may attempt to impose shall form no part of the contract between the customer and Northern Pet Trade. These terms and conditions replace any previous ones, and are the only ones to apply in any business conducted between Northern Pet Trade and the customer. Any variance from these conditions can only be authorised by in writing by a company director.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by English Law and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. Should any part of this agreement be found to be unlawful this will not affect the validity of the remainder of the agreement.
