However, the most important feature of bird lights is they let a bird synthesise Vitamin D3 through their preening gland or in their skin. They use this Vitamin D3 to metabolise calcium.

Parrots need calcium to build strong bones, grow and to produce healthy eggs.

Unlike humans, Parrots can see UV light. This supports them in recognising other Parrots and find their next meal.

Plus, the right levels of UVA can help to reduce feather picking.
