Northern Pet Trade is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can limit our use of that information and the procedures we have in place to safeguard your details.
  • When you register on our website we need to know your name, address, email address and a security password so you can log in in the future. When you place an order we also need to know your payment card details and telephone number in case we need to contact you about the order.
  • We need this information to process the order that you place.
  • Some of the information may be passed to our agents or sub-contractors in order to fulfil the order - for example the courier who delivers the order. They may also contact you by telephone if for example they are unable to locate the address.
  • We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us improve the website and service, and may provide this information to third parties. This will not include any information that can be used to identify any individual.
  • We may also wish to provide you with information about special offers and new products or anything else we think may be of interest either by email, through the post or other means. If you would rather not receive this information please opt out when you register or at any time afterwards.

Cookies
Cookies are small text files sent from our website server to your internet browser and then sent back each time you access the website in future. This website uses cookies to store session information - e.g. the contents of your basket - and for log in purposes. Protecting your information
We have never heard of a case where using this website resulted in fraudulent use of a customer's payment card. We use industry standard Secure Socket Layer encryption to pass your order from the website to our back office systems and your credit card details are never held unencrypted on any server.
 
When we receive your order the details are stored in our order processing system. Only the first 4 and last 4 digits of your valid payment card details are visible to our customer services staff and the security code is not retained after the initial authorisation. Firewalls are installed to prevent unauthorised access and anti-virus and spyware software is installed and kept updated on all our computers.
